As an eight year old girl growing up to music from the 1980's, and early 90’s. Watching women like Queen Latifah, Roxanne Shante` Salt n Pepa, McLyte and Yo-Yo, speak a bold positive message with music, LaTasha “Mz.Tash” Monroe was inspired to become a female “hip hop” artist. LaTasha was known for her poetry in high school. After hearing the song “What y'all want”, by Eve from Ruff Ryders in 1999, LaTasha was inspired to write her first rhyme. Being a church girl, church was the foundation and platform that allowed her to perform gospel rap for church events across the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut,New York and New Jersey.Relocating to North Carolina, life ran its course. While earning a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, and a Masters in Education, LaTasha decided to take some time off from her music to focus on being a wife and mother, and building her career in education. She experienced traumatic events which led her to return to her hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts. She has been on her journey of healing, love and most of all, as an Emcee and Songwriter. LaTasha, now known as “Mz.Tash”, began recording her new album “Poster Child 4 Pain” (scheduled to release summer of 2023), and a mixtape “Disrupting The Rap Game”, with Music Producer “ Avery On The Beat” back in January 2023. Releasing her singles “ Don’t Sweat the Technique” and “I’m Good” while performing at different venues.LaTasha uses her platform of music to connect with people on many levels. Using authentic life events and experiences as testimonies, LaTasha makes music from the heart. She uses positive non-explicit lyrics with an old school foundation as her sound. She is a motivational songwriter, and artist that makes music to inspire and encourage others. Her story is still being written as she continues to fulfill the purpose God has for her life.
